Mixer Selection Chart
Our chart is intended to furnish basic guidelines for selecting the proper mixer to provide a mild blending of liquids of various viscosities in different size tanks. This information is based on an approximate 30 minute mix-blend time for two liquids when both liquids are already in the tank. Mixing times can be shortened if one liquid is added while the first liquid is already being mixed. Powders should always be added while mixer is running.

Optimum mixing will be achieved when the mixer is angled from the tank wall. “Angling-Off” center is preferred when good material turnover is required, as in mixing a slurry. “Angling-On” center is desirable for a gentle mixing action or when vortexing must be minimized. Improper mounting of a mixer can greatly lessen mixing efficiency, cause vibration, and possible damage the mixer.
